At the beginning of Brutus's speech, he instantly uses ethos by telling the people to remember his honor, which is effective and catches the audience's attention. He remind the audience of his wisdom so they will more easily believe him. Brutus states," Believe me for mine honor, and have respect to mine honor that you may believe." On the other hand Antony's use of ethos retains to the reputation of Caesar and the many things that he had done for Rome. "He hath brought many captives home to fill" states Anthony. Antony's use of ethos is more effective because he tells the people the good that Caesar has done, and the people are not just going to forget something as this just because Brutus states his reliability.
