The INCLUDE strategy is a great place to start. I think it really analyzes the needs of all students, especially those that need extra help. I do agree with the way this method is laid out. However, I feel that this is something that should be done anyways. For students that need accommodations and for the classroom in general. Every step of this strategy can be looked at from a general perspective, which is another reason why I like it so much. The INCLUDE strategy can be altered to use in different aspects. Regardless if a teacher is aware of the INCLUDE strategy or not, they should somewhat be following these steps anyways if they really care about the students.

I have heard the term “universal design” several times throughout my experiences in the education department. However, I never truly knew what it meant until reading this chapter. I always assumed it just meant trying to meet all the students needs with your lesson. However, I now realize that the meaning and process is much deeper. Following the INCLUDE strategy allows you determine what you need to create your universal design. The universal design increases overall learner support and it minimizes you backtracking. The less accommodating you will have to do later.
