Women Receive Freedom and Dignity
What does dignity really mean to women? ?The quality or state of being worthy honored or esteemed.? She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.? (Proverbs 31:25 (NIV) I believe a woman clothed in dignity is one who knows who she is in Christ, and chooses to act in ways unfailing with her high passion as a child of God. (Proverbs 31 ministries)
Christianity gave women freedom and dignity. Jesus interacted with women and chose to overlook the stereotypes that had been in place.
Jesus honored women when he taught them theology. He told Martha, ?I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me shall never die? (John 11:25-26). He taught Mary in the Mary-Martha account (Luke 10), and he also taught theology to the Samaritan woman (John 4:9-29). As a result of this incident, his disciples ?marveled that he talked with a woman.? They knew Jesus had clearly violated the rabbinic oral law, which said, ?Let the words of the Law be burned rather than committed to a woman.?(Rosen-Zvi, n.d., para. 2)

Jesus presence on this earth is why women are who they have become today. Without his existence this would have never happened. All Scripture is breathed out by God and purposely placed in our Bible?s for our encouragement, correction, and affirmation (2 Timothy 3:16). Every word in Scripture is holy and has the power to change hearts. Jesus said he did not come to judge, but came to seek and to save the lost. ("Every student ," n.d., para.
