To begin, war affects economically. Before the Great War we were in the Great Depression from 1929 to 1939, the World War l started in 1939 …show more content…
As John F. Kennedy said, “Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” Now we have advance technology, which means that we can make more destructive weapons, which means more people dead. After World War ll and Cold War people were scared even in the government. When the United States and Russia had nuclear weapons pointing at each other and there was only one button to push to kill one another, as many trials they did no one would win and almost every single men in this world would be dead. That is the consequences of today, we know what a nuclear weapon can do and we don’t want to risk ourselves to that. A cause of war is the Post traumatic stress disorder, where health condition is triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event. Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen describes how people would see war. As something that no one would want to miss, is sweet to die for your country, and wanting to see something different. People would encourage people to go and that it would be a fun experience, but when they came back it was totally the opposite they would that disorder and would not be able to live their normal lives. Now, every 22 minutes a veteran dies because they can’t take it anymore, they can’t do what they used to do, for every sound they hear they jump because of the gun shots. Countries fight to show that they are the best. After World War l ended, Germany was blamed 100% and the Treaty of Versailles was a terrible way to end the war and which triggered the World War ll. Germany wanted to show that they were the greatest and show that they are all wrong. That lead Adolf Hitler to come to power and do what he did. Countries, especially Russia and the United States, fought for who can get the better weapons or who can get them the fastest. Russia and the United States were racing on the making of bombs. When the United States had the atomic bomb USSR at the time wanted to get it too, when they got it the US had another one and keeps going. Also they were racing for space. The government has made bad decisions, for instance, Iraq and Afghanistan war were not worth the money and the lives lost. They were looking for nuclear bombs, but there were any, and when US troops left, they were consequences to it. War can be good, but it also affects our planet.
In conclusion, war is an event no one wants to miss, first it looks good them it’s bad. As William Tecumseh Sherman said, “It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell.” Being in a war is hard there is a lot of things that can happen. Economically, socially, and politically are some of the cost of a war. Some people think that the next war will be fought
