3. (word count: 634) An example of a virtuous person performing a morally right action is not participating in cheating when they easily could. This person may be in a super hard math class that they are struggling with. Maybe they need to get an A on the next test in order to pass the class and have the grade point average that they want. The student knows that the teacher uses the exact same tests year to year and does not change anything about them. Their friend took the class a previous year and offers to lend the student their old test to memorize so that they can pass the exam. He or she would have felt guilt about cheating and would have rather failed and done the right thing than cheated and received an A on the exam. People who are virtuous by nature and act morally tend to feel and experience the appropriate feelings in situations. This goes the other way as well because people who don’t tend to experience the appropriate emotions in situations, are more likely to act immoral since they probably won’t feel bad about it. In my opinion, people who don’t experience emotions such as guilt and sadness due to doing something morally wrong could be considered somewhat sociopathic. This sounds extreme but people who commit murders are often sociopathic or psychopathic and do not feel bad about their actions. I think the reason some people are able to commit immoral actions could actually be due to personality or mental disorders. A virtuous and moral person would probably be unable to do something this extreme and although murder is a completely different example than cheating, it is a good way of looking at the way people act based on experiencing or not experiencing the appropriate …show more content…
These things could include forming new relationships or rekindling old ones or making a religious connection or relationship. In their last few weeks of life, a patient could form a very intense and meaningful relationship with God that makes their life feel more fulfilled and makes death a slightly different experience for them. During their last weeks, a person could also possibly meet up with an old friend they haven’t seen in a while. These things could potentially be fulfilling for not only the patient, but also for their friends and family members. Seeing the patient form a relationship with God or finding themselves in some other religion may help family members and friends see that the person has found peace and happiness. Seeing the patient form a relationship with an old friend would obviously make the friend feel happy, but also other relatives and friends would be happy to see that as well. Another thing that someone may do in their last few weeks of life is make alterations to their will. The patient will have time to think about whom they want to leave certain
