First example of violence is when St. Clare had tried to stop a bar fight and ended up getting stabbed. St. Clare had asked Tom to pray for him. “St.Clare had turned into a cafe, to look over an evening paper. It had shown how the slaves were truly treated and handled. The slaves were always sold to different people and had no idea where they were being sold too. When the slaves wouldn’t do something right, the slave owners could punish the slaves very badly. Some of the slave owners were very mean and rude just like Mr. Legree. He was a man who wouldn’t destroy his power. When he is given total power over everything he doesn’t take advantage of that. Who wouldn’t take advantage of the power that you’re given. If you are given as much power as you can you would wanna use
