4.1 U.S.-Mexico Diplomatic Relations Under President Barack Obama Administration: Immigration and Border Policy The United States (U.S.) and Mexico are known having a strong and vital diplomatic relations, which both states share a border of 2,000-mile long and have a strong bilateral relation which directly impacting the lives of millions of Americans, including the issues of trade and economic reform, education exchanges, citizen security, drug control, entrepreneurship, innovation, environment, and also migration (U.S. Department of State - Mexico, 2017).
