1. There were many interesting parts about this movie. It was interesting to see what a landfilled looked like. I knew that it was a place where all trash is put but I never imagined what it would look like. In the movie they mentioned, “Recycling is becoming popular,” I do agree with that in some states recycling is important and those who do not recycle can get a ticket. This reinforces the fact that people need to recycle. People are also realizing that …show more content…
There are many things that shocked me while watching the video. They stated, “ When a tree falls it is halfway through its life. When a bear finishes eating and processes it food is become fertilizer” This explains that even though you may think animals and nature are not an important part of life, they are important aspects of the world. You may not think they affect you in anyway that you live but in reality they have a major affect on the world. You may not know exactly what it is used for but it is important. Some shocking information mentioned in the movie was the process that happens after the waste is taken away. They mentioned that the waste is loaded on a 250-mile train to a hill of a huge landfill. I always thought that after our wastes were taken away from our homes the trash trucks would take them to the landfilled. I also imagined these landfilled being somewhere not to far from where all the trash is taken. According to the movie, the trashes are taken to the landfilled that are extremely far. That was a shocking thing to learn. I agree but also thought it was shocking that the Government, trash and recycling companies do not understand why there are many landfilled for garbage. The landfilled make no use for the trash; some of the items can be recycled because they can become very valuable. Another thing I agree with that is shocking was that they mentioned “We waste because we haven’t been told that its okay to waste” I believe it true, as kids most of the time we would eat some of our food and throw the rest away. I know in my family it was very easy to throw away food although my parents always told us not to waste. You cannot force someone to eat something they do not want to eat. Neither can you force someone to wear something they do no want to wear. Everyone has a choice and one of the choices we have is to be able to throw something away. Therefore society makes it okay to waste. It was not extremely reinforced on my siblings and myself.
