The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services. It is committed to “enhancing the well-being of the American people by providing effective health and human services and by fostering sound, sustained advances in the sciences underlying medicine, public health, and social services” (DHHS, 2016). HHS has eleven operating divisions, including eight agencies in the U.S. Public Health Service and three in the Human Services Agencies that are responsible for overlooking and administering the programs, as well as regulatory compliance. These divisions also help to eliminate disparities in health, as well as health care access and quality, and protects vulnerable individuals and communities. In addition, staff divisions provide leadership, direction, and policy management guidance to the Department (DHHS, 2016). Since there are many parties involved who provide the care and services that are needed to protect and service the health of the American people, it 's important for HHS to maintain positive and forthcoming relationships to continue to help aid and fund all of the programs and services that they are responsible for.
