To begin the academic year, freshmen received a letter from the University of Chicago explaining that the University would not offer trigger warnings nor safe spaces for students who may become triggered by content offered in the classroom. Some students' are so outraged they have begun to call safe spaces dangerous, since no real therapy is provided, leaving only the illusion that they feel safe. According to Shulevitz many professors have begun to loathe instructional learning, fearing that they may hurt students' feelings.
