Once Robert and Laura considered killing Tracy, the love for Tracy declined. Even though Robert was the one who actively killed Tracy, Laura thought also it would be best if Tracy was dead. Loving a child is wanting to do everything for them, keeping them safe and not hurting them. No parent wants to see their child in pain, but killing them is not the answer. They could no longer give her the love she needed and provide the care she required. Selfishly, they did what they thought would be better for them and killed her. The struggle these parents faced was tough, but Tracy needed them to be resilient for her. Tracy never asked to be born with cerebral palsy, pain and other disabilities. Robert and Laura did not ask for a child that needed care 24/7, however, that is what they received and Tracy needed them to be there for her.
A caregiver’s experiences should not be justified when taken into account if they murder a family member. If a decision is necessary regarding a patient’s life, the caregiver can give feedback, however, it should not be one individual's decision.
