Hamilton was a firm believer that their was a need to revise The Articles of Confederation and a convention was necessary. For instance, Bowen states, “For the ensuing seven years, Hamilton never stopped driving and pushing for a convention. He wrote letters private and public, made speeches, published a series of newspaper articles entitled ‘The Continentalist’-” (Bowen 8). Hamilton stated the evident faults of The Articles of Confederation such as, its non-existent branch to enforce the laws, no one to interpret them, and the Congress had no power to force the states to do anything against their will (Bowen 8). With his persistent persuasion on the need to gather to discuss these issues the convention was able to convene. At last, because of his efforts New York sent three delegates to the convention, Hamilton included. Hamilton not only contributed to the commencement of the convention, but hey played a key role in the ratification process as well.
