(Pavri, 2017, 1) As a patient of thyroid disorder, along with my family, and 1 out of 3 Canadians who are enduring through this illness, it raises the questions of why not much capital is provided towards this health concern. (“Thyroid Disorders”, 2009, 1) As this disease affects the thyroid glands of the body, it interferes with the equilibrium of the hormones in one’s body, leading to numerous disadvantages, especially for adolescents going through puberty. (“Thyroid Disorders”, 2009, 1) Yet, countless patients, are having to resort to ingesting daily pills in hopes of balancing the hormone’s, as very little research, awareness and funding is targeted towards this disorder, unlike breast cancer. Thus, society has the potential to cure or at least suppress symptoms of this disease if adequate attention is brought upon this illness. Moreover, stepping back into a more global scope, if society concentrates towards global warming, the future generations can be saved. As Donald Trump and numerous individuals are advocating against the existence of global warming, others who are against this are not raising their voices, consequently not improving the condition of the world. Instead, if countries and citizens are committed to embark on efforts to become ecofriendly, the lives of polar bears, melting of ice caps, sea levels rising, can all be placed on halt.
