The main components of this article are the descriptions of first and second-generation antihistamines. This is fruitful information because my thesis needs further expansion on the statement about how antihistamines have specific targeted receptors throughout the body. Being able to compare and contrast the pathways for first and second-degree antihistamines not only clarifies my thesis statement, but answers a question I had previously proposed about how the blood brain barrier effects these distinctive pathways. This FDA based website provides limited knowledge, but important knowledge nonetheless. This website helps to explain my thesis statement particularly pertaining to gathering useful background information, such as when the drug became available to the public. One of my questions focused on the pathway in which antihistamines take throughout the body once ingested, and this article houses the answer. Aside from that individual question, this source contains information regarding the histamine receptors and the effects they play on different types of cells located throughout the body as a whole. This article was published in a journal and was been revised so the creditability is solid, but this article is written in the form of a secondary source. The bias is a little hard to locate because of the usage of language and word choice. This article is written from a highly educated stand-point, and at this point I have a hard time understand the context of some of the information. With that being said, I will have to be careful as to what information I choose to include in my final research
