The Jury concluded that Daisy was, in fact, guilty of the hit and run but was not the only one to blame for Gatsby’s death. The story is that Daisy Buchanan was driving Jay Gatsby’s car while he was in the passenger seat when she struck Myrtle Wilson. They also pointed out that Daisy “chose to withhold the information [about the crash] from the authorities” and that she was being charged with a felony hit and run. This …show more content…

Then again, Daisy could also be blamed for Gatsby’s death because if she had told the authorities, George would not have killed Gatsby. These are the reasons why a majority of the jurors decided that there was no person wholly responsible for Gatsby’s

I loved how you were able to recall your memories and your adventures in such a detailed manner. The one statement that I can not quite wrap my mind around is your statement that Gatsby is the victim of the events that led to his death, but I believe that he caused those events to fall upon him. Gatsby had wonderful intentions of pleasing the women he loved and lost, but the execution of those intentions created conflict, and stopped the fulfillment of his dreams.…

No one knew who the driver of the car was that struck her, but Myrtle thought that Tom was driving the car and she was hoping that he would stop to visit her. It was actually Gatsby’s car that killed her, but Daisy was driving. Most of the characters in this book could take responsibility for this accident, Tom caused Myrtle to run into the road, but Myrtle should have known better, also Gatsby should not have had the heated argument with Tom which caused Daisy to drive home erratically and to show no remorse after killing a woman.…
