Our world is becoming more and more fast-paced. I mean, there is virtually no time between anything we do, and by the end of the day, we are utterly exhausted. But what if there was a solution to all of this? What if we all took a 20 minutes to lie down and nap? On one side, people believe that naps are crucial in order to stay focused and alert, while others argue that naps are not the way to go. As a potent believer of taking naps, I believe that naps are critical to increase our productivity, consistently have good moods, and if one’s career has an eccentric schedule, naps can benefit them immensely. If we could all learn more quickly with less mistakes, then we would become more productive, or, simply put, we would do more each day. Furthermore, having less mistakes occur during, let us say, a daily task, these tasks could potentially become easier to do, allowing us to do more of those tasks in one day, hence becoming more productive. Also, these naps are only around 20 minutes, so really, we have nothing to lose. Additionally, one source states, “I often feel tired when I get home from school at 3:30, and I want to be alert and energetic in the evening so I can focus on all of my homework...Good for you for thinking of ways to increase your productivity for schoolwork...On nights when you don't get enough sleep, napping can help to recharge your body and increase your mental alertness...Naps with lengths between 10 and 20 minutes have been shown to increase productivity, decrease fatigue...,” (Source 3, paragraphs 1,2,3,4). This exemplifies that during the day we get tired, especially if we did not get a good night’s rest. This
