Throughout the reading, I came across a few theories surrounding the cause of psychological disturbances within the individual. 13). I am not stunned that prejudice was created against those displaying abnormal behavior. I feel that humans tend to create negative outlooks and condemning walls against those that are different than them; whether that be your race, speech, and or behavior. If it is different from the majority you will be out casted. However, I am saddened that prejudice caused a shift from a plausible and mildly successful treatment to that of poor treatment. To allow what is viewed as frowned upon differences impact the treatment of individuals upsets me. So, to see prejudice as a cause of the decline of moral treatment really troubled me.
