Love is the motivating force that encourage Gilgamesh to fight Humbaba. In an effort to regain the love and respect of his people Gilgamesh embarks in the journey to kill the guarding of the Cedar Forest. Humbaba is the personification of fear and malice in the world. By killing him even against the wishes of the gods Gilgamesh will “establish eternal fame” (TNAWL Pg.111) and protect his people. His desire to be love motivates him in a quest to make a name for himself. “If I fall on the way, I’ll establish a my name” (TNAWL Pg.111) Although, the killing of Humbaba might be better created to Enkidu because it is evident that Gilgamesh true desires are to be worthy of his …show more content…
Consequently, love is also the force that inspires Gilgamesh in the search for immortality. After the death of Enkidu Gilgamesh was destroyed with grief. The lost of a love so powerful left the king
