After watching these videos, it made me realize that is not only a religion but a way of life. It made me think that suffering is a common life thing, but Buddhist have a way of dealing with it. I had the wrong stigma about Buddhist’s being just monks in temples, but many people who practice this religion are able to let go of the little things in life that weight us down.
My Analysis:
The video stated many ways we can ride our lives of stress in simple ways, but we just need to know how to do it properly. “Pain is the unavoidable, and suffering is what could lessen and dissolve in our lives. It isn’t the things that happened in our lives that causes us to suffer, but how we relate what happened to us to suffer. (Chodron)” This quotes speaks to me because it makes …show more content…
“In order to feel better, when we don’t like what is happening, we strike out, and yell and escalate our suffering. (Chodron)” I think most people can relate to this because when we are young we threw temper tantrum, and when we are adults we do so differently. We are still lashing out which is not good. We need to stop this because there are better ways to deal with this. Meditation is a common think in Buddhist tradition, or going on walks. Everyone can relate to this because when we being to suffer everyone does so differently. Some yell out, harm themselves or other, eat, sleep, or isolate themselves which causes harm to themselves or others. It is a temporary relief, but doesn’t help the overcome the suffering. We all suffer in our own ways, but we need to learn how to suffer properly to feel better, and not cause more suffering.
My Question:
Chondra spent a lot of time talking about suffering in one’s life. How are you able to end this suffering, by learn to let the little things go and not get hung-up on them? Is this something that you could adapt to be involved in your everyday
