Bikeways In The City Of Wildomar City

Driving though the small rural town of Wildomar, California, plenty of cars and motorcycles are regularly speeding down the streets. What you will likely not observe is a person riding a bike. Not unlike many cities in the region, automobiles are the transportation of choice. Driving a car is generally more time efficient, comfortable and you can haul more people and items at one time. The negative aspects to so many people choosing automobiles as the only form of transportation for themselves and their families are an increase in pollution, expense and obesity. A portion of the population is non-driving and do not own vehicles so their children have to walk or ride their bikes to and from school daily. Many of the people in this community are overweight and so are their children. If there were bikeways (bike paths) that adults and children could ride on throughout the community, that were separate from busy streets, it would greatly improve the community. If school-aged children could ride their bikes to school and everyone could have the opportunity for safe riding, the bike paths would be worth the effort. Wildomar is a …show more content…
There are a multitude of benefits which the bikeways could provide and would greatly improve the quality of life. The health benefits to residents of all ages are abundant. The paths would be mostly flat but would have some hills, with a range of fitness levels, which would make them accessible to everyone. More people could ride bikes to do errands, get to work and to school. Bike rides make an excellent family outing and provide a way for kids to visit friends and be independent.
