Turning Points In Life Research Paper

Often time’s things happen in life that we do not expect. Many turning points in life happen and we have to, somehow, learn to deal with this new “problem.” Sometimes, the issue is so life changing, we tend to lose our minds and become lost on this path of greatness. When life has its difficulties, we often frown upon the things that have blessed us in the past. We forget about all the things that have leaded us to that point of our life, that when that moment comes, we become selfish. Some will turn to bad habits, and some will turn to destructive thoughts. It is said, “The darker the night, the brighter the stars; the deeper the grief, the closer is God!”(Fyodor Dostoevsky). I agree, that in times of grief people grow closer to God because their helpless, have lost hope, and need renewal. People tend to lean on God when in times of helplessness. To explain, a person who is a drug dealer/user. You have been doing/ selling drugs for a couple years. Then one day, you are caught by the police, and end up in jail. You are told you will have 15 years. While you are in jail, you find a bible. You read it. The bible becomes this new structure for you and you decide that you want to live by it. When you get out on parole, you start making changes. First, you stop talking to everyone that influenced you to do the bad things that you did before. Anyone who will bring back the bad habits from before, you get rid of them. Second, you get a stable job. Getting a stable job would lead to new friends and a stable environment. In addition, it would lead to healthier choices and lifestyle. Last, find a place to practice your “new” religion. When you are new to a religion, you need to find a home church; temple or place that has people you can associate with that practice it too. These people can become your accountable partners and help you through
