Did you know that the 1940s is one of the most popular decades in the history of the United States? The 1940s had many major historical, political, and social events. Most of these events are considered to be some of the biggest events in America’s history. All of these events have an effect on how we live today. Although the 1940s is most famous for its historical, political, and social events, it is also well-known for the technological inventions of the decade. Most of the technological inventions from the 1940s are still being used today. The historical, political, and social events of the 1940s had a major effect on the technology of the decade.

1940s Historical, Political, and Social Events

The 1940s had many important historical, political, and social events. The first event to take place was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This would cause a domino effect of major events. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Up until this point, America had stayed out of the war. On December 8, 1941, the United States declared war on Japan. America was now involved in World War Two and would join the “Allies” (Parson). Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor and America’s entrance into the war was the first major event in the 1940s.
