The Similarities Between Jay Z And Sam Walton

Jay Z and Sam Walton both began at the bottom and were born to working class families. They did not have a head start in wealth as most rich and wealthy people have present day. Jay Z and Walton both worked extremely hard to rise to the top and become successful. The ways in which they reached this level of greatness drastically differ. Walton discovered his ability to sell and promote things at a very young age. He used this to his advantage and focused on work centered around his abilities. He was very motivated and desired to start his own business. He even went as far as to scout various towns and other areas on his small plane for ideal retail spots. Jay Z was also extremely motivated, but he rose to his current position in a very different way. Jay Z began as a hustler who enjoyed rapping. He would sell drugs at a low price sparking heat amongst competing dealers, for instance. After a few close calls with the law, Jay Z decided he needed to travel along a safer route; this is when he decided to start a career in rap. Walton would go on to create the empire known as Wal-Mart, and Jay Z would go on to become a music executive while launching a music company, his own cologne, and his own Reebok sneaker, among other things. Being ordinary is not acceptable to me; I like to try my hardest and push myself to better levels. For the most part, I am not satisfied with myself if I am average. I am an extremely ambitious person, and I do not settle for any less than what I expect. Most Americans probably view someone who is content with being average or less than average as lazy and lethargic. They may believe they lack perseverance and are not hardworking. I admit to these judgmental thoughts, but they should not be the case. One can never assume why someone is average or below average.
