Hey, have you ever wondered about biggie smalls before fame? Or how about his only two studio albums? I will tell you some information you may or may not have known. Biggie Smalls, “The King of New York”, has done many thing in his 24 years of living. In the first paragraph I talked about his early life. Second and third paragraph, i’m talking about his first and second album.

Biggie Smalls was born as Christopher Wallace on May 21st, 1972. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York as an only child. He was raised by his mother, Voletta Wallace, because his father, George Latore, left the family when he was two. Voletta worked two jobs to send Christopher to a private school, the Roman Catholic Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. He transferred to the George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School. 3 other future rappers, DMX, Jay-Z, and Busta Rhymes, attended that school with BIG. He started drug dealing at the age of 12 while his mom was at work for long hours. She had no inkling of the act. He was often a truant, he dropped out in 1989 at the age of 17

Ready to Die released September 13, 1994, by Bad Boy Records and Arista Records. Recording for the album took place during 1993-94 in New York City at The Hit Factory and D&D Studios. It was the only album Biggie Smalls lived to see release. The album became a certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Also, the album has reached a certified quadruple platinum with sales.
