When first imagining a prison, the first image that comes to mind is a big, scary place with solid concrete walls, deadly criminals, rough guards, and poor food. Does that sound like a nice, safe place to help rehabilitate children? Well for 3,500 kids in 2019, that was their life, living in an overcrowded prison with people way older and scarier than them (Espinoza 2). So the question is, should juveniles be housed in adult prisons?
