The Gospel of John portrays the divinity of Jesus. The Gospel of John was written for the world to show that Jesus was the "Son of God." When he was hung on the cross there were several women close enough that Jesus could talk to his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. ‘When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’”(John 19:25-26). Jesus told Mary, his mother, that the disciple is her son so that they can protect each other. The connection between mother and son is important.
