The Federal Emergency Management Agency also known as FEMA protects the citizens of the United States against man-made and natural disasters. The United States Coast Guard, which is the only military branch specifically under the Department of Homeland Security, protects our waters. Another federal agency under the Department of Homeland Security is the United States Secret Service. The United States Secret Service protects the nations national leaders and their families. This shows that each of the twenty-two different federal agencies under the Department of Homeland Security have a different role in what they watch, but they still need to come together at the end of the day to protect this
