The Miracles Of Jesus Authority Essay
When I go back over the previous assignments leading up to this one, it is very clear that the miracles Jesus performed provided Him with an audience to hear His message. That being the case, He took the opportunity to tell them about the good news of forgiveness, of grace and mercy, compassion and of the great love that God has for mankind. It was through the miracles that people witnessed the character of His Father and the will of His Father that through His Son mankind would be healed from their sickness of sin.
In John 10:37(KJV) “If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
(Joh 10:38) But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.” Jesus speaks of the specific purpose of the miracles which are so they would know and believe that He is the Messiah, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.
According to Donald Guthrie (1970) “The various miracles which are attributed to Jesus may be placed into one of two categories, either healing miracles or nature miracles” (p. 163). From the miracles, one might perceive that there are three types of healings which are (1) cures for an ailment, (2) exorcisms from demon possession and (3) resurrection of the dead. Out of the thirty-five miracles recorded in the Gospels and performed by Jesus, four of them I would like to review for the purpose of noting specifics in regards to its nature, persons or…
