Wednesday, pgs 105-110: The question was answered to who crucified Jesus and why, but there is one more question that is more spiritual… What was the meaning to all of it? God, of course, could have stopped Jesus from being killed, and so Jesus could have if he proclaimed himself as the Son of God. There is a deeper meaning to Jesus’ Passion and death- he did it for humanity! He died on the suffered and died on the cross so that humanity could be saved from the horrors of death.…
He had few material possessions and did not even own a home. He was rejected by most people and even hated by some. Even His friends and those closest to Him deserted Him at times. He was accused and found guilty of things He did not do. He was beaten, spit on, cursed, mocked, and suffered terribly and died the most horrible kind of death known to man at that time, a death on the cross.…
Judas Iscariot is the disciple who betrayed Jesus. He was a son to Simon Iscariot of Kerioth town. He was fond of stealing coins that had been collected from the community. The fact that Judas was one of the disciples proves that Jesus loves and treasures everybody. Jesus can allow people from all walks of life to become his disciples.…
Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary because God needed to have us to be reminded of who and what we are here for and what God can do for us. So Jesus became a part of us and walked among us and taught us all about God’s word and what God would do for us and that if we only believed in Jesus then we would once again walk with God and have eternal life. Jesus’s identity is important to the Christian worldview because it let’s us know that we have a purpose and reminds us to believe in God and do good and believe in him. As long as we have repent our sins and believe in God and try and remind each other what Jesus did for us and to teach what Jesus taught the disciples to each other.…
N.T Wight, in his book Simply Jesus argues that modern people are guilty of oversimplifying Jesus, because they do not understand who Jesus really was, what he did, and why that matters. To truly understand who Jesus was, we must look at him from a first century perspective. People believed in many different ideas than what is believed today, so it is necessary to think in a way similar to how people in the first century thought in order to have a better understanding of who he was as a historical figure. To further understand Jesus, Wright argues that one must also be familiar with what he did in his lifetime. In his lifetime, Jesus gave a taste of the reality of what having God as king would be like, and acted as a walking temple.…
Jesus is know through out the bible in various chapters. In the bible it states ''for god so loved the world he sent his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have ever lasting life''. Jesus came down from heaven to die for the sins of the world so we could go to heaven. I believe because with the help of God, Jesus healed the sick raised the dead and made the blind see. Without Jesus if you died to day you wouldn’t be going to heaven.…
It would be nearly impossible to find several different people who completely agree with each other simply because they are talking about the same topic. Even the apostles, who traveled and learned from Jesus together, might have different thoughts on the same subject. The most obvious example would be on whether to turn in Jesus for money, Judas makes a different decision from others (Mark 14:10-11). It is then very plausible that Paul, who joined the movement after Jesus’ death and thus likely to have learned about him through only secondhanded information, wouldn’t have retold Jesus’ teachings perfectly as Jesus intended. There are indeed inconsistencies between Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel of Mark and the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians,…
The Romans, by request of the jewish officials killed jesus by way of crucifixion (the tradional way of killing criminals in rome. The story is told that Judas was the one who gave up jesus’s whereabouts to the Romans and therefore he was the one who betrayed jesus. The reason people are so sure that jesus is the savior and the son of God is that on the third day after his crucifixion he rose from the dead and came back to his disciples to show them that he lived again. The resurrection of Jesus was looked at as a miracle as people can just rise from the dead.…
While the temptation was strong to save his own life and go home to be with his children, he tore the piece of paper with his confession on it to pieces. For that, he was hung, but his point was made and his actions made clear to the people that they had made a mistake. He died a…
Jesus Christ was Crucified and Resurrected Sometime between the years of 30 and 33, Jesus Christ was crucified and then three days later, he resurrected from the dead. Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of God and the Messiah, sent down from Heaven to pay the price for the world’s sins. Jesus’s death and resurrection made it possible for man to be forgiven and saved for their sins in the name of the Lord. The resurrection changed history by letting all followers of the Lord and Jesus Christ be able to rejoice in heaven once their time on earth is done.…
“The Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29 KJV), He has arrived and many accounts of His deeds are found in the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus, born of a virgin, descendent of Abraham and David (Matthew chapter1), is the seed of Eve in Genesis, the Passover Lamb in Exodus, Emanuel of Isaiah, the redeemer of mankind. He was sent by God, His Father to be the sacrifice to atone for the sin of the fall which could not be washed away by the flood. Our constant and ongoing struggle against the will of God. We do not take care of His temple, we seek to rule it.…
Jesus, who is he? Does anyone truly know who Jesus is? Jesus is lived and died for mankind. Is he the Messiah, the lord, the son of God? Jesus was there to serve, and I believe that is what he did.…
Jesus is seen as the son of God in the Christian religion. A martyr that died for "God's People so they can be saved. He is more like the symbol for the Christian religion. Often Jesus and God were seen as the same person. Nikki Giovanni stated "I turned myself into myself and was Jesus .…
Who is John? What was his purpose on earth? How did he come to know Jesus? John is known as John the Baptist and is related to Jesus through Jesus and his mother. John was born on earth for a purpose and his purpose was to help bring those people who does not know about God, come to know him.…
Jesus was the Son of God and He had been raised from the dead. Jesus sent the apostles out on the Great Commission, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19, 20). They went out and everywhere, with the Holy Spirit working through them performing many signs and wonders confirming the word of God they had spoken “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen” (Mark 16:20).…
