Step one in the mindfulness consulting process is to “identify the problem and the consultant” (Marques, Biberman & Dhiman, 2010, p. 25). Once we have identified a few problems that are holding the client back from their end goal, we ask that the client to then identify one of these problems that they are currently facing. Once this problem has been identified, the clients are then asked to mentally identify a consultant. This consultant can be anyone or anything.
