The legal drinking age is 21 in the United states of America. The majority of teens have at least had one alcoholic beverage in their life. Definitely not all of them but most of them have. There is a lot of debates on the legal drinking age. Some people say it should continue to be 21 and some say it should be 18. Since everything else is legal at the age of 18 shouldn’t the drinking age be 18 also? In my opinion the legal drinking age should be 18 and here are all of my reasons why. The first reason the legal drinking age should be 18 is because the legal age to join the military is 18. Any us citizen that is at least 18 has the right to join the military. If you can choose to fight for our country then you should be allowed to have a few alcoholic beverages every now and then. Also, every 18 year old has the right to vote for the future president. If that isn’t a grown up right then I don’t know what is. Also, if an 18 or 19 year old can decide whether or not he wants to move out of his/her guardians house then he/she should be able to go to the store and buy a few drinks.
People may say that the younger you are then the lower your tolerance is but according to http://www.cognac.com that isn’t true in some cases, a fifteen year old could have the same
