This week’s topic will discuss the concerning subject of the Presidents healthcare law. Also known as Obamacare this is the worst portion of the president’s administration’s actions to date. Citizens of both political parties are seeing the dysfunction of the law now that the law is starting to impact the economy and individual paychecks. Many voters who were for this law are now opposing it or at the very least are wishing it would be revised and fixed. The ones who are not opposing it either do not have the plan as of yet or are receiving government assistance and do not apply to the mandate to carry this healthcare plan. In all honesty it was poorly designed and the enrollment was forced upon individuals and companies. American is supposed to be a free country, but more and more we are seeing these types of actions from the dictator like actions of this presidency. This law will cost each American citizen either for or against it more of their disposable income than anyone could ever imagine to begin with. The president promised to lower rates by $2,500 each family but in reality that number will be increased by triple that amount. “Between 2014 and 2022, the increase in national health spending (which the Medicare actuaries specifically attribute to the law) amounts to $7,450 per family of 4” (Conover, Chris, 2013).
