Significant events in a person’s life are what make the world modern. Although, ones idea of modern can be different from another’s belief of what modern is. Modernism is associated with the concept of revolution. Revolution is the action of change over time; this word describes the first step in an era that is occurring. Modernism is a present tense term that describes of change that is happening. Modernism is the second and final step of the change that occurred. It is clear to see how certain changes and/ or events in history have a large impact on how people see the world today. One revolution that changed the way humans thought about the world was the Scientific Revolution. This revolution is responsible for the new technologies, theories, and inventions of how humans act and respond to their everyday lives. This occurrence of thoughts and actions lead into revolution questioning the views of society and nature. During the time of the revolution, many people found that questioning religion with science was unreligious. Galileo, however, does not fight against the concept of either science or religion nevertheless uses both theories to work with one another. Galileo quotes in his in Response Letter to the Grand Duchess Christina, "I do not feel obliged to believe that that same God who has endowed us with senses, reason, and intellect has intended to forgo their use and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can obtain by them."
