There had been some rumors that you two, had broken up; evidently that’s all that they were, rumors. It’s understandable that being under the constant surveillance of the public eye makes it all the harder for a relationship to develop into a long, and healthy one. However, this isn’t a problem unique to high profile individuals. Nevertheless, all relationships are not created equal. We all have to put in different levels of effort, and sacrifice into our commitments to others. The contradiction of perfect unity vs journey, revolves around this whole idea. A relationship at first is not overwhelmed with painstaking love, but more likely with lust. You may think everything is perfect, and shall remain this way, but it shan 't. You will fight, but you will also grow, patience is key, and time shall tell. There will come the time when you realize that you have invested your very image into this other person, and will want to reassure yourself that you are still you. The contradiction of privacy vs. openness, can both soothe, and stir your relationship. But sometimes you have to hold your ground somehow to remind yourself who you are away from everyone else. It’s not a matter about a secrets within only a select few, but only you. Dependence vs independence, is slightly different. This focuses more on the ability to confidently carry yourself in public places. For example, you don’t have to hold onto each other for dear life when you go out with friends, it’s acceptable to let go and socialize with others; think about it as flaunting what you bring to the table, you are a wonderful half to a even better whole. Lastly, the contradiction of altruism vs. selfishness. When you first fall for someone truly, you want to give them everything, no matter the obstacle.You shouldn’t do things for the benefits in a committed relationship, it should be actions made out of courtesy for the person you love. While I believe a one way circumstances are a ticking time bomb, you make deals along the way which are still part of the learning process of how to make things work. Maybe your partner might not know what is expected of them or how to react to, it’s not an excuse to act rash.
