The government should make it harder to run for the president of the United States. This issue is brand new, I 'd argue that this is the first year anyone has even considered changing the policies for running for president. But after this year 's election so far containing a racist, a criminal, and someone who belongs in a mental facility, not operating on people 's brains or running for president, these people being Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Ben Carson all had or still have a majority of their respective party 's votes. The fact is, it 's way too easy to run for president and this needs to change for these three reasons: almost anyone can run for president, people will vote for people they like the most not the most viable candidate, and finally, mentally unstable people are allowed to run as well.

Let 's start by going over the current requirements for someone to be eligible for candidacy.The first thing you must do to be eligible is “Attain the age of thirty-five”(U.S. constitution). The Second requirement is to be born in the United States or one of its territories “No person except a natural-born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States”(U.S constitution).
