For many years, masses, religious classes, parents, have been teaching students a different interpretation of what is inscribed in the Bible. It is thought provoking to learn that many of the traditional beliefs that have implanted since I began learning about religion are inaccurate. The Introduction to Bible course has given me the opportunity to explore and broaden my perspective on the Catholic Bible. The information I have acquired still continues to question faith and facts. My knowledge of the Bible, continues to be altered every class. The traditional Christmas story that most of us have been brought up with is the one with Jesus being born in a stable in Bethlehem in Judea, the shepherds and the wise men, the appearance of the Angel, gift stars, and Mary. Mathew and Luke talk about Jesus, Mary, Joseph, angel and Bethlehem. The Gospel of Mathew talks about the Wise men, Herod, gifts, stars, Bethlehem to Nazareth, it was written for Jewish audience and the Angel only speaks to Joseph. In Luke the Shepard are also introduced, Nazareth to Bethlehem to Nazareth, written for Greek Audience and the Angel only speaks to Mary. Is this the accurate interpretation of the nativity story? After analyzing the text closely, critical scholars have realized that, the interpretation of the Christmas story has been told inaccurately.
