Motivation in the workplace is essential to keep a company successful, and the employees happy. When employees are motivated, their production increases, and overall they are much happier at their job. It is so easy to become unmotivated, especially when working on a particularly challenging task, or if you have a job where the day-to-day tasks are routine. Personally for me I like a job where I can work on multiple tasks, or move from one job to another. I like variation in my work day, so I don’t get bored.
I have worked in places where motivation was an issue. Some places the manager was a good motivator, and they were able to get the employees back on track, and at some places, the manager did not do such a good job motivating their employees. If I were a manager, and motivation was becoming an issue, first I would figure out what the issue was. Are my employees taking on too much of a work load? If this was the case, I would consider hiring new personnel to help out. Another

If I were a manager I would go around to all of my employees and let them know that I understand that it can be easy to get unmotivated at work, and that I really appreciate all of their effort and their hard work. I would then ask them what I can do to help, or what I can do to make their work day run more smoothly. I would let them all know if they needed to talk, I am always here for them. I would want my employees to feel comfortable coming to me with any problems or concerns they are having, and I want them to know I am more than willing to help them in any way that I can. “Managers should treat employees with respect, value their contributions, communicate expectations, and provide feedback.
