Going into depth with the energy crisis, the biggest issue was the want and need for oil with not enough oil to go around to everyone causing issues with members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Companies (OPEC). After the Iranian Revolution the oil industry was just not the same causing the prices of oil per barrel to skyrocket (Britannica Staff). This became a problem within the energy crisis since the majority of people living in the United States of America depended on oil for different uses like transportation, fertilizer, and other things commonly used here in the United States.
