It was also found that physical child abuse was a significant predictor of both physical violence and verbal aggression perpetration. Those who were abused as children were more than twice as likely to be physically violent to their romantic partners when compared to those who were not abused. Additionally physical child abuse also predicted prolonged verbal aggression. Overall, victimization and perpetrators of physical violence were discovered as being related, more so with the abused group.
