Child Abandonment is an increasing issue in the United States and also takes place plenty of times in other parts of the world (Brannagan). Abandonment is considered a form of Neglect by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and results similar negative outcomes. There are several ways how the abandonment and neglect of an minor child can be prevented. The child can be given to a family that can be trusted and know they will take care of the child 's. Some parents call it discipline, but discipline gets taken too far and it turns into abuse. The body mends, but when the mind, spirit or psychology is broken, it is a much longer and more difficult road to repair it. Environment around a child tends to affect the mind of a child too, such as teachers. Officials have made and come up with ways to prevent verbal abuse. In the wake of numerous instances of teacher 's misconduct in the 2015-16 school year, educators and all staff members will receive mandatory training on the law requiring the reporting of child abuse
