The Consequences Of Adolescent Homelessness
As of today our adolescent homelessness is becoming a major problem in the United States. I am going to talk about the causes, the consequences, and the programs that may help them off the streets. So, why do these adolescents become homeless in the first place? Well the meaning of homelessness is a person or individual without a permanent home who may live on the streets, stay in a shelter, mission, single room occupancy facilities, abandoned house or a vehicle or any other unstable or non-permanent situation. The causes of adolescent homelessness are due to family problems, economic problems and residential instability. They provide support for every phase of a young person’s journey while staying at the Covenant House. The Rights of Passage is a transitional living program that gives homeless youths a chance to learn how to live on their own successfully. With this program they learn how to take care of themselves and then they would be able to move on without ever returning to the streets. These programs do come in hand to adolescents who are living on the streets throughout the United States. So, in conclusion we as people need to make sure that our children do not end up on the streets, but if we cannot help it, at least try to help them and guide them in the right direction. I have talked to you about the causes, the consequences and the programs that will help our adolescents who are homeless or that are becoming homeless. We also got to remember there are adults that are homeless as well as our adolescents.
