The cardiovascular, respiratory, sensory and endocrine systems play important roles in the functioning of the human body. The cardiovascular system involves the heart, blood and blood vessels, the respiratory system involves organs and structures, which allow the body to breath, the sensory system allows the body to receive external and internal information while the endocrine system involves the glands and secretes hormones throughout the body. The 4 systems to be discussed all work together to ensure the human body maintains life. The physiology of these systems and major conditions, which affect these systems, will be discussed in this paper. By examining particular conditions associated with these systems a better understanding of physical activity’s benefits can be discovered.

The respiratory system allows an individual to continue breathing and is concerned with the structures within the body, which allow individuals to do this their entire life. The respiratory system is broken into upper and lower tracts (Herlihy, 2014). The upper tract includes the nose, upper trachea, nasal cavities, pharynx and larynx. The lower tract includes, lower trachea, alveoli, bronchi and bronchioles (Herlihy, 2014). Individuals breathe in (respiration) and breathe out (expiration), for this to occur air moves through the tract (Herlihy, 2014). The respiratory system works along with the muscular system, which pushes blood from the heart to the lungs to be oxygenated (Herlihy, 2014).…
