The purpose of this briefing note is to bring The Board Of Directors For Vancouver General Hospital up to speed on the current porter system conflicts, and give some recommendations on improving the efficiency of the Porter system to prevent as much delays as possibles, and meet the demands of the hospital.
Background:
Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) poster system represents a vital aspect of efficient hospital operations, facilitating the timely flow of patients, equipment and material to all departments within the hospital. Overall, the main cause of delay in dispatch times was due to despatch processes, software limitations, and the unavailability of porters. Another issue was a shift schedule that didn 't match the hourly demands.
Considerations To Modify The System: Clearly, there is a flaw in the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) porter system, and needs a nudge in the right direction to get the system to a VGH quality standard. Therefore in this brief note, I have provided a number of options to help develop a more efficient porter system for VGH. These steps should be implemented or considered to better the system overall.

This will help establish the amount of time porters should spend on units. Once the performance is monitored and evaluated, management should follow up on the performance data and provide it to the staff. Therefore, it gives an idea roughly how long the porter should spend at unit.
Option Five: Feed Back Lastly, the hospital can have online surveys, or surveys done by patients while they are waiting for their turns. This will result in fewer complaints and create an effective feedback system that will allow everyone to express their concerns while creating a forum to communally address problems and find solutions for the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Porter system.
Recommendation:
The Board of Directors for Vancouver General Hospital needs to acknowledge that the porter system is facing some challenges. Challenges that can be fixed by grasping the idea and principles of operational database, communication system, and management system overall. Thus, I strongly suggest following the suggestion I had mentioned in the consideration section for a solution to solve many of the problems that the porter system is facing.
