(“Benefits”) Many people do not know about juicing; however, there are also some who think that they know everything about the topic. Either way they have a lot to learn; about juicing in itself, or about other people’s experiences. Juicing has helped and will help many people, struggling with weight loss, all over the country. Unfortunately, many Americans still lack information on the many benefits of juicing. Juicing is a topic that not many people have the advantage of knowing about. It can be a tricky subject, when you are deciding whether or not it is beneficial to you and your diet. Everyone must make the decision on whether or not juicing is right for them. Even though it does not sound like much, juice has a lot of unique properties that can help different types of illnesses. Brown talks about reducing illnesses and states, “For example, juicing may reduce the risk of heart disease. Apple and pomegranate juices have been linked to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels.” By juicing it can help, to almost cure some different diseases and illnesses. However juicing can be harmful to some people. Brown also states, “For individuals with kidney problems, a heavy consumption of juices rich in oxalate has been linked for kidney failure.” There are many pros and cons with juicing. Juicers often think that by juicing it detoxifies their body, but in reality though the juice itself does not detoxify the body, but not eating whole foods is what detoxifies the body. Also by drinking the juice and not eating solid foods it will let your organs cleanse themselves. Your body does not need juice to detox itself. The liver and kidneys are supposed to do it on their own for your body
