As I take the time to reflect through my personal experience during this course I have came to a clear conclusion that there is now an understanding of what the term “adulthood aging” truly means. Through this course, it is without hesitation that I have gained an abundant amount of knowledge over the life cycle of an individual that prepares us when aging. Gaining this understanding has helped me answer the simple question of this paper: “What is aging?” As I take the time to put my thoughts and knowledge into words throughout this paper, it is important that there is a clear understanding of the aging paradigm that has helped me justify what aging means to me, the in-class interviews that have given a clear vision of how certain theories can be put into place, and how I would define what aging means in my own terms of understanding.

Lifespan Development
The term lifespan development refers to age-related changes that occur anywhere from birth, throughout a persons’ life, into and during old age. This theory was found to be most fitting for what aging means to me by focusing primarily on life experiences through early childhood to adulthood, as these are the most effective years that help shape that we become as individuals and establish who we are in the world.
