Tension In John Updike's A & P

To answer your question, yes I have experienced work place tension. It came at a time when there was a new manager at the job I had been working for almost three years. The manager and I had an unspoken disagreement about how a situational should have been handled. Despite having different methods, we both ended at the same conclusion. I was reminded by this when reading "A & P" by John Updike. Like Sammy's, my situation came about in the food service industry, thus one of the tension building factors was the direct and immediate result to the customer. Furthermore, tension is built in Sammy's disagrees because the way his manager responds to their situation, likewise I felt that my manager could have done something different as
