Based on the information provided, Tavey’s symptoms appeared that he is experiencing psychosis. He reported hearing threats being yelled out to him and noticing people gathering in parkland at the end of streets whenever he went outside. Believing that his neighborhood is dangerous, he adopted safety behaviors such as equipping his house with weapons, checking the boundaries several times per night. He was reluctant to let his wife go to work or leave her alone at home, worrying about her safety. His thoughts and behaviors have impacted his daily functioning (e.g., difficulties in sleeping; strained relationship with his wife) and he also experienced high emotional distress, mood swings and difficulties in concentration. This report attempts to use evidence based individualized psychological interventions to address Tavey’s psychological issues.
