Taoism Chapter Summaries

Overall this chapter implies to the story as a whole my mentioning Taoism and touching upon the fact that the Rabbit will never feel how a Taoist feels. Taoist are people who are similar to Pooh and Rabbit is definitely the opposite of that as he never seems to seize a moment he just continues on working and reworking. There are multiple messages that can be examined during this conscice chapter. A lesson that is quite possibly the most meaningful would be “Cursing the world, which is not to blame but which is there to help show the way.” (Benjamin Hoff pg 99). Personally this quote was the best out of all the paradoxes. As I have explained before this quote is meaningful since we hate the world which brought us here and has provided us with

From this week’s reading, I’m most interested in the landscape painting of Fan Kuan, TRAVELERS AMONG MOUNTAINS AND STEAMS, from the Song dynasty of China. This is a ink painting on silk that describes the Monumental landscape at that time. Most importantly, Neo-Confucianism coincided with the development of these kind of Monumental landscape painting and played an important role on this kind of art. In an impermanent world, do we have to search for the meaning of life or does it come to us? Chuang Tzu, a Taoist, believes that a happy life comes from being with the Tao or the Way. It is about letting go the desires that come to us and changing our perspective to see the world in a larger picture. It is the growing attachment to these desires which hinder the ability to find the true nature or ultimate reality and despair and anxiety grows. To have a more meaningful and happier life is to not think of achieving a goal but to go with nature.…

This quote conveys the fact that people only suffer in life and are “sour” because they do not appreciate their surroundings and take in time to breathe in the air. Since pooh of course is a character that is the most sweet and lives simple he represents a person who is not sour. If one was to look more and understand nature they would bring peace into any situation or task that comes at hand.…
