SLIDE – POINT OF VIEW:
The narrative is a first-person account from the perspective of a person.
SLIDE – CHARACTERS:
Indirect characterization is used in this story but the majority of information is held back from the reader.
The reader can assume the first-person perspective is coming from a human because on page 2, the person narrates about their frequent visits to their tent “to consume copious quantities of tea”.
Through the behaviour and actions of the person, the reader will learn the person is childish and does not like to be ignored. On page 2 the person decides to urinate on the wolves’ trail to get the wolves to recognize his existence. This is not only dangerously ignorant, but is a very childish approach to a problem.
The wolves are characterized as calm and intelligent due to their actions when addressing the intrusion of the person.
