How would your emotions be if you were a sixteen year old girl, and you were forced to fight to death in a harsh environment? This is what Katniss Everdeen faces in Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. She is a typical teenage girl helping her family and she ends up winning her life in a violent game. She has to starve and overcome many obstacles in the hunger games. This story is a fantasy, science fiction, and a thriller. In the Hunger Games they live in a colony with different districts, Katniss and her family live in the tenth district. This area is an unknown colony in the south part of North America called Panem, it takes place in a unknown time in the Nation of Panem. The story of Hunger Games mainly focuses on a skilled girl who lives under a system nobody likes. Katniss mainly focused on helping her family and feeding her little sister. In there colony they have annual Hunger Games which is a tradition in Panem. The two people from each district are chosen to fight in a game to the death. The story began when the leader of Panem was ready to announce the contestants for the 74th annual Hunger Games.
